The silence of your smile makes me dizzy. I don't know why. Every time you move you form a different shape; a different person every time you breathe. I can't smell you; you make no noise; you have no face, nor have you voice. But I can feel your arms, can feel the heartbeat in your chest, these things are all the same. I know them, can give them name. Sometimes at night I see your eyes, only to know I'll never know them should I meet them face to face. I call your name, but it is wordless, I pray to God to keep you safe. I know He knows your every cell, and sometimes I get mad at Him, wish I could make Him tell. He knew you in the womb, formed your every part, turned your dust into real flesh, and put that beat inside your heart. He holds within His palm everything I want to know, everything I dream about, every vision I let go. He sees you every day, He knows about you every answer to every question that I cry, He is the link, the silver cord, that binds us tight, He is the Lord.
